MORRIS MANSER

CONDITIONS

The designation MORRIS MANSER is a term applied to all creative output under the helm of Morris Manser.

He started shortly after his graduation as Fashion Designer at Head in Geneva in 2021 and is now working from his studio in Basel. The creative designer mixes references from Appenzell, a rural region in the east of Switzerland, and from the fast-paced rhythm of the cities of today.

The designs include textile development based on traditional techniques reviewed and applied to sculptural silhouettes, inspired by the designer‘s daily experiences. Emotional affection is the starting point for the research.
The ‚prêt-à-porter‘ designs are for the individuals seeking their daily show moments. Through the simultaneously seductive and irritating elements, the designs stimulate curiosity. The viewer will need to touch the garments to experience them. MORRIS MANSER’s focus is experience through garments. The designs are meant to suit the emotionally durable design ethos, therefore they need to tell an emotional story to which the customer can build a relationship. Each look is attached to an event and tells a story to create a positive energy moment. The propositions accents individuality and versatility, the pieces are one of a kind and made from deadstock materials.
Morris Manser grew up in Basel, spending a lot of time in nature in Appenzell and Tessin. Being an energetic person, he works with his body‘s movement and gestures to sculpt volumes. Sensitive to occurrences, he translates his experienced situations to haptic textile designs. He is a keen visual observer who loves to discover unexpected compositions and natural illusions happening around him. As a real Swiss, he has an affinity to cows and can name you at least 50 different kinds of cheese.
MORRIS MANSER stands for inclusivity, appreciation of every kind of human being and therefore distances itself from discrimination of any form.
