zero waste - shibori dyeing

This two-garment piece made out of dyed fine cotton is produced without any waste of material. The whole fabric of 400 x 150 cm has been used.
zero waste

The traditional japanese dyeing technique ‘shibori’ served as a base to the colorisation of the fabric.

For this piece I was inspired by the uniform of the factory workers in Arimatsu in Japan, where still lies the epicentrum of the old shibori culture.
